This convenient beverage is ready in 2 minutes and leaves behind a plastic container that is not recyclable. This type of single-serving food is very popular with consumers.

I have blogged about the wastefulness of single-serving food products before. They are a luxury and luxury means waste. I also have blogged about convenience and how it does leads to waste. We have to ask ourselves if the convenience of drinking a speciality coffee that is prepared in 2 minutes is worth leaving plastic waste in the environment for several centuries.

I use a keurig because I live alone and don't want to waste a whole pot. I use the refillable cup all the time and buy my coffee on bulk at my co op. I also grind my coffee at home. Keurigs aren't bad if you don't buy the premeassuared cups.
I like how you use the Keurig. You obviously think about waste and your eco-footprint.
